TIRED EYES

AFTER A YEAR SINCE HIS DEBUT RELEASE 'IT'S NOT ALL BAD, I PROMISE' MAC LLOYD RETURNS WITH THE TIRED EYES EP, MARKING HIS FIRST SOLO RELEASE ON GREEN BRICK RECORDS (BRISTOL) SINCE HIS INITIAL SIGNING TO THE LABEL EARLIER THIS YEAR. HAVING BEEN WRITTEN, RECORDED AND PRODUCED BY MAC, THIS SUBTLE AND TRANQUIL EP SHOWCASES HIS TRADEMARK MELANCHOLIC SOUL ON THE TRACK 'HOPELESS SINNERS', BUT ALSO GIVES INSIGHT INTO MAC'S RARE, YET UPLIFTING MUSICAL CAPABILITY ON 'BREATHE'. THE EP CONTINUES TO BUILD UPON MAC'S FUSION OF GENRES, TYING IN ELEMENTS OF LOFI HIP HOP, ELECTRONIC PRODUCTION AND SOUL.

THE SINGLE TAKEN FROM HIS EP IS THE FIRST OF TWO TRACKS 'HOPELESS SINNERS' WHICH WAS SHOT ON LOCATION AT MAC'S HOME, BY SOSS OF NINEFIVE, AS HE REFLECTS ON A PAST LIFE THAT HE STRUGGLES TO DETACH HIMSELF FROM MENTALLY. THIS TRACK ADMINISTERS ELEMENTS OF SELF LOATHING AND GUILT BROUGHT ON BY PAST ACTIONS, AND SHOWS HIS FEARS THAT HE MAY NEVER TRULY BE ABLE TO CHANGE WHO HE REALLY IS DESPITE CONTINUAL EFFORTS TO THWART OLD HABITS.

'BREATHE', HOWEVER, IS SIMPLE AND ELEGANT IN ITS DELIVERY AND ACTS AS A MELLOW, UPLIFTING COUNTERPART TO 'HOPELESS SINNER'. WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH, THE MIND BECOMES CONVOLUTED AND, SIMPLY PUT, MAC LLOYDS REMINDS HIMSELF THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A STEP BACK SOMETIMES AND BREATHE.

TIRED EYES IS AVAILABLE ON ALL MAJOR STREAMING PLATFORMS NOW. FOLLOW THIS LINK TO STREAM THE PROJECT.

THIS TRACK IS A MILESTONE FOR MAC IN A NUMBER OF WAYS. NOT ONLY IS THIS THE FIRST TRACK THAT HE HAS WRITTEN, RECORDED AND PRODUCED SOLELY BY HIMSELF, IT ALSO MARKS A POINT AT WHICH HE IS FINALLY ACCEPTING AND UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS OF LOSING OF A LOVED ONE, HAVING HAD THIS TRACK STORED AWAY FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS.

MAC USES THIS TRACK TO BREAK DOWN THE PROCESS AND TRAIN OF THOUGHT HE HAD EXPERIENCED WHEN DEALING WITH THIS AREA OF LIFE THAT WE ALL MUST GO THROUGH AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER.

THIS TRACK WAS RELEASED IN THE LEAD UP TO MAC LLOYD'S DEBUT ALBUM, WHICH IS EXPECTED TO DROP IN THE SPRING OF 2019, AND IS LIKELY TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE ON THE RELEASE.
